Ambassador Mohammed Al-Hussaini Al -Sharif (2012-July 2015)
Ambassador Mohammed Al Hussaini Al Sharif is a career Saudi diplomat for more than 35 years. Before assuming his current post as Chief Representative of the League of Arab States to the United States as of February 16, 2012, he served as Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Turkey, Canada, Consul in Houston-Texas, Head of Mission to Mali, and represented his country as Deputy Head of Saudi Diplomatic Missions in Venezuela, United Kingdom and the Philippines.
He has represented the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in various conferences and forums and headed Saudi delegations to regional and international conferences.
During his diplomatic career abroad, he wrote and published reports and articles in the media, in addition he lectured in universities and institutes in Ankara, Houston, Caracas, London, and Ottawa on Saudi Arabia’s foreign policy, the Middle East peace process, human rights in Islam, Islam and the clash of civilizations and the role of Islam in combating terrorism. During his present post in Washington, DC, he has been lecturing in various universities and participated in some think tank organizations seminars and forums in Washington, D.C. and other states.
Ambassador Al-Hussaini graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, MA from the University of the Philippines and PhD in International Relations from University of Houston, Texas.
The Canadian Ottawa Life Magazine had chosen him as the second most influential personality for the year 2003 in the capital Ottawa among fifty prominent persons from the fields of media, politics, academia, science and arts.
